From the What’s HapPINin blog on Disneypins.com: Here’s a look at a unique boxed set designed for Disney Summer Pin Festival 2009 – The Haunted Mansion O-pin House: Fans of The Haunted Mansion® Attraction will recognize the design of the box from the doors found in the famous Corridor of Doors scene, where the ghosts attempt to get through locked doors. The box opens to reveal five pins based on artwork also found in that scene including some of the Marc Davis paintings and the “Tomb Sweet Tomb” needlepoint. The boxed set also includes a nice surprise; the front knocker on the box is a pin as well! The knocker is hinged and works just like the knocker in the attraction. . .well except this one doesn’t move on it’s own. Since WDW News Today opened about 1 1/2 years ago, we have had a lot of fun providing you with news, information, and entertainment about various aspects of the Disney Parks. It is a rewarding job, but as with anything in life, there are some moments that are regrettable. Today, we experienced one of those moments. As most of you are aware, John Corigliano moved over to WDW News Today back in March of 2008 after years of working at the Mousetimes website. John had already been appearing on the WDW News Today Podcast for a few months at this point, and would become an important part of our WDWNTube video site and would even be given his own podcast and vidcast titled “John Corigliano’s Ear To The World”.
